There is no try, only GO! Disney Star Wars Weekends

That’s right! When it comes to StarWars weekends at Walt Disney World, it’s a can’t miss type of event. Starting on May 15th and lasting every weekend until June 14th, join fellow StarWar lovers at Hollywood Studios for some awesome excitement!

Being a Geek at heart, my family and I have attended this event every year for the past 3 years, and we are never disappointed! Whether you’re a fan of the original movies or have kids who are fans of the animated series ‘StarWars: The Clone Wars’, there is something for everyone!

Start off your morning with a fantastic character breakfast at Sci-fi dine in theatre, featuring the ever-so awesome Darth Vader! Of course, wherever Darth goes there’s bound to be stormtroopers. Throw in Boba Fett, Jawas, and Greedo and you’ve got yourself one heck of a party!
Not breakfast eaters? Or maybe you’d feel more comfortable dining with “the good guys”?
Then join Jedi Mickey and his pals for dinner or even a Fantasmic dessert party! This was one of our favorite meals and my son was elated when he saw the Fab-5 all dressed like characters from the movies. The food is fabulous and it was fun to meet them in something other than their typical outfits.
Now remember, just like most character meals, these will book up fast. The breakfast special dining experience is only from 8-11am so seating is limited! Dinner with Jedi Mickey starts later in the evening, with more seating available. Frankly, you can’t go wrong with either of them! Be sure to get reservations as quickly as you can!

Personally, I love to shop and every special event at Disney World is sure to come with exclusive merchandise. The Darth Mall - yes pun intended - was filled with all kinds of fantastic stuff. I ended up with my boyfriend confiscating my purse halfway through, when we realized I was grabbing EVERYTHING! From legos to lanyards, pins to pens, plushes to keychains - you name - they have it! For those with annual passes, there’s even more for you with items that are only available to pass members. Located just past Aerosmith’s Rockin’ rollercoaster, the giant oversized tent is hard to miss. Go early to make sure they don’t sell out of something great, before you get there.

So what else is going on around the park? You’ve eaten..you’ve shopped...now what?

Well, you ARE at Disney! Synonymous for autographs, parades, and rides!
For children ages 4-12 can train to be a Jedi and help defeat the evil Darth Vader. Take a ride with C3PO and R2D2 on StarTours! Want to meet actors from the movies - then now is your chance! We ran into Warwick Davis, famous for his role as an Ewok AND his roll in Harry Potter.

Do NOT forget about the parade. Next to the shopping and riding our favorite ride at Hollywood studios, the parade was something we still talk about!
So many of our favorite characters are scattered around the park for meet and greets, but during the parade local StarWars enthusiasts dress up in homemade costumes and get to join in!

All in all - StarWars weekends have to be one of our favorite memories. Even if you aren’t die-hard fans, it is still a fun experience and something I highly recommend!
Remember though - if you run into Chewie, always let the Wookie win!
